Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean your health goals must suffocate from all the love in the air, but splurging on one small treat won’t totally derail you either.

Are you and your significant other trying to stay on the healthy side of the Valentine’s Day festivities? Forget the candy hearts and chocolate kisses – we’ve got a V-day recipe so sweet and delicious you’ll question if it’s actually healthy or not.

We love this dessert recipe because it has no refined sugar, uses coconut oil rather than hydrogenated vegetable oil, and it has fruit! Healthy wins all around.

This recipe is a twist on the chocolate strawberry tradition – which isn’t the worst indulgent treat in the world. At Raw Life, we’re big believers in balance for long-term sustainability in your healthy lifestyle, so treat yourself and someone special, or a group of friends!

Ingredients:

¾ cup

Whole Grain Flour

½ tsp

Baking Powder

¼ tsp

Salt

½ cup

Cocoa Powder

1 tsp

Cinnamon

½ tsp

Nutmeg

2

Eggs

6 tbsp

Honey

2 tbsp

Coconut Oil (melted)

½ cup

Greek Yogurt Plain Non-Fat

2 tbsp

Akmond Milk

1 cup

Chopped Strawberries

½ cup

85% Dark Chocolate

Directions:

Preheat oven to 355 degrees.

Cut your fresh strawberries into small slices.

Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl.

In a medium bowl, mix the eggs and honey. Then add in the coconut oil, Greek yogurt, and almond milk.

Pour the wet ingredients into the large bowl with the dry ingredients and combine well. Want them extra fudgy? Add ½ cup dark chocolate chips at this step.

Line a 9×9 pan with parchment paper.

Pour the batter into the baking pan and spread evenly.

Bake for 20 minutes and keep a close eye on it. Poke a fork or knife into the center to test doneness – if utensil comes out clean, your brownies are ready!

Remove and allow them to cool.

Melt your dark chocolate (can be done in microwave or over the stove – keep a close eye either way).

Drizzle the brownies with your chocolate “sauce” and strawberry slices.

Cut into nine brownies and serve!
